OverviewA one-step process, using low cost raw materials to create near net shape fiberglass preforms. These preforms are used to manufacture structural composites in various molding processes, including RTM, VARTM, and S-RIM. In the process* a powder binder is blown through a thermal spray gun. The melted powder is combined with a stream of chopped glass and sprayed toward a typical directed fiber screen.
